SSM Blog 6/2/14

I’m very excited to be able to tell you about everything that’s happening at SSM this Summer!
First, is our SSM Frozen Summer Camp. As we all know the Frozen craze has basically taken over the kid’s world this past year, and we can’t wait to help celebrate this amazing movie by doing a review of the songs from the show. The kids will be learning the songs, building little set pieces, costumes and more! This is our first summer camp and we couldn’t be more excited to be putting this on for you! We do still have some spots left for both the June and July camps, so head over to our registration page and you can get signed up there!
Other happenings at SSM, we have our 2nd Showcase coming up in September at Steve’s Live Music. Our last showcase was held in April, and it featured some of our top students and Rock Band Classes. The concert was a great success and allowed us to really show off the talent here at SSM. This time, it is not just going to be our students taking part, but the teachers will be performing as well! This will be the first time our teachers have been able to show off their talents in a concert setting for our students and families. Having worked with these teachers for years now, I know the audience is going to be blown away by these performances.
More Fun From the Music World:
Last night I had the chance to watch the 2014 Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Concert on HBO. What a fantastic show this was, with some of the greatest artists in Rock History finally getting their due. Being a bit of a Springsteen fanatic myself, it was great seeing the E Street Band take their place in the Hall of Fame, and Bruce’s induction speech was second to none. To hear him speak of what a band really is will bring a tear to your eye and a lump in your throat, I highly recommend watching that clip at the very least. Congrats to all the inductees which also included, Cat Stevens, Hall n Oats, Linda Ronstadt and Nirvana, well deserved to all of them.
